Overview: Ezekiel 4:9 Organiz Sprouted Whole Grain Products are flourless, organic, provide a complete source of protein, are high in fiber, and have a low glycemic index. Ezekiel bread is composed of wheat, barley, beans, lentils, millet, and spelt.

The Good News:  This organic, natural, nutrient rich bread is also delicious!  There are just 80 calories per slice, and 3 grams of fiber, 4 grams of protein--containing all 9 essential amino acids, and 0.5 grams of fat.  There are 18 amino acids in this great tasting, highly nutritious bread.

The Bad News:  Like many nutrient dense, healthful foods, Ezekial products are expensive!  Per 24oz loaf, prices range from $4.99 - $5.99!   But good taste, and optimal nutrition is worth the extra money!  Also, bad news for these with an allergy to gluten, as Ezekiel bread is NOT gluten free.

Final Grade: A-.  If it weren't for the price, this product would have earned an A+.

Omnipod armbands

My son Logan has type 1 Diabetes and he wears an insulin pump.  The one he uses is called the Omnipod and it is a small device that attaches to either the back of his arm, back, abdomen or leg.  He prefers to have it on the back of his arm, as a lot of children do.  Unfortunately it can get bumped or can rip away from the adhesive backing at times.  And although you can wear it in the water it can start to peel away from the skin when it is wet for a long period of time.  While away this past week on school vacation we meet another little boy when we were swimming who also wears the omnipod and he had a fabric band over his arm that he was wearing to protect it.  I learned that there is a website where i can order the same.  Check out www.bands4life.net.  Not only do they have arm bands for adults and children but they also have medical ID's for purchase.  It was started by a family with a son who wears the omnipod as well.
